LVP where it stays dry enough
LVP belongs in rooms that can live with Florida humidity. It is not the automatic answer at a wet exterior door.
RenovationsFlooring Installation in St. Augustine and St. Johns County
St. Augustine · St. Johns County
Flooring installation in St. Augustine and the rest of St. Johns County is LVP and tile chosen for the room, the slab, and the humidity. Palmetto Ledger Co. LLC, CRC #1335031, does that work with the remodel. Jim Siebenaler has 30 years as a builder and remodeler.
Older St. Augustine houses rarely have a flat, dry slab waiting for a floating floor. We look at the floor before the material is ordered. A newer subdivision house can take LVP in the dry rooms and still need tile where water actually lands: the bath, the laundry, and the door to the outside.
Humidity is the inland problem. Salt air is the problem nearer the river, Davis Shores, and the island side. A floor that cups, gaps, or fails at a wet door was usually the wrong product for that spot, or it was laid over a slab nobody checked. We would rather say that in the house than after the furniture is back.
The renovations page lists flooring and LVP with the other trades. The St. Augustine area page is about the houses. This page is the floor: what we will put down, and what we will tell you not to put down.

Baths and other wet rooms get tile as part of the remodel, with the prep the slab actually needs.
Older floors in St. Johns County get looked at before anyone commits to a stack of boxes.
